Every rand that enters the 3241 Foundation is allocated based on operational need and, where a donor has specified a preference, in accordance with their wishes. Every programme outcome is tracked and reported — beneficiaries served, meals delivered, animals rescued, children placed. These reports go to donors and to regulatory bodies.
We chose structure because the people we serve deserve it. A family who receives a food parcel deserves to know that the organisation providing it will still be there next month. A child in one of our placements deserves to know that the programme watching over them will not disappear when the funding gets tight.
That stability is what Section 18A certification means in practice. The 3241 Foundation has been approved by SARS to issue Section 18A tax certificates for donations directed to the following public benefit activities: community development for poor and needy persons — including skills development, empowerment, anti-poverty initiatives, and support for emerging micro-enterprises — and the care and rehabilitation of animals.
